About the Game
Developed by One More Level, Valor Mortis follows William, a resurrected soldier of Napoleon's Grande Armée, through a plague-stricken alternate nineteenth-century Europe. Combat combines parries, dashes, melee and ranged weapons with supernatural powers. Levels are Metroidvania-inspired: new movement abilities open up paths and secrets in places you've already been. The PC game is available through the official Steam store.

FAQ
It's Valor Mortis: two words, in that order. That's how it's written on Steam and the official site.
It launched on October 13, 2026 at 10:00 PDT (13:00 EDT, 18:00 BST), which was already October 14 at 01:00 in Beijing. That's why some stores list the 13th and others the 14th.
PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It's included in PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, and Ultimate members can also stream it from the cloud. A Switch 2 version is being considered but hasn't been announced.
The standard edition is US$39.99, €39.99, £34.99, 149.99 PLN or 149.99 BRL. The Deluxe Edition is US$59.99, €59.99, £51.99, 199.99 PLN or 219.99 BRL. On the Chinese Steam store it's ¥168 standard and ¥248 for the Deluxe bundle. Prices vary by region, so check your store.
The developers put the campaign at about 20 hours.
No. It's single-player only on every platform.
Not at launch. The developers haven't ruled out adding difficulty options later.
You play as William, a soldier of Napoleon's Grande Armée brought back from a battlefield grave. Napoleon is part of the setting, not the playable character.
Levels are Metroidvania-style and loop back to Lantern save points. Once fast travel opens up, you can teleport between Lanterns from the Lantern menu.
Not yet. New Game+ is planned for an update later in 2026 and will carry your progression and loot into a harder second run.
Either works. Steam lists full controller support with several preset layouts, and mouse and keyboard controls are fully rebindable.
Not on Steam. The demo, which had two reworked levels, went offline on September 8, 2026. On PS5, PlayStation Plus Premium members can play a 1.5-hour trial of the full game instead.
Both tiers need Windows 10/11, 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12 and 60 GB of free space on an SSD.
